I am not sure if this one counts but the Royal Brothers lost on TV on 8th July 1978, when they took on Giant Haystacks on his own. I watched this and I seem to remember that Vic Faulkner was counted out after a Haystacks splash. The Royal Brothers did draw quite a few of their TV matches, against McManus and Logan, the Borgs, Masambula and Honey Boy Zimba etc. They didn't lose many but they certainly didn't win all their matches, keeping a certain air of credibility about their matches.
Just checked on wrestlingdata.com and it gives 6 man tag.Mick McManus,Steve Logan and Brian Maxine defeated Bert Royal.Vic Faulkner and Johnny Saint at RAH on 25/05/1977.
According to the Itv wrestling web site The Royals did lose one televised tag match on the 4th November, 1972. It was againgst the Dangermen; Steve Haggetty and Colin Joynson.
That's a very valid point Main Mask.Possibly the Promoters didn't want their cloak of invincibility dented.Hells Angels were also my favourite tag team.Remember when Ada went over to the Independents he teamed up with Bobby Barron on some occasions.
They were both long-time Champions - could any other team boast more than 25 years combined title time?
Bobby Ryan had only just started his career but it was in Hanley after all
I found a couple but I don't have further details:
December 27th, 1969 – Hanley, England
John Cox & Bobby Ryan b Bert Royal & Vic Faulkner
March 9th, 1970 – Bradford, England
Tag team KO tournament:
The Masters: Peter Preston & Alan Colbeck b Bert Royal & Vic Faulkner
