In JUNE 1965 DOCTOR DEATH returned to British Rings after some months out
due to Injury! He took less than 20 minutes to Defeat CRUSHER VERDU!
His Tag Partner GORI ED MANGOTICH was on the same Bill facing the Maniacal
WILD MAN OF BORNEO! The Good DOCTOR INSISTED on acting as SECOND to
his Buddy!! MANGOTICH took the first Fall and was roundly cheered by his MASKED
Partner! ED also got his 1st Public Warning which made DEATH insist to the Fans that
the REF-MAX WARD-had been 'paid off'!! The WILD MAN equalised with a Bear Hug
which had DEATH ranting it was 'illegal'-Then the HAIRY ONE got a Public Warning
with the DOCTOR demanding a D.Q.!! WARD had to lecture DEATH for constantly
interfering in the Bout threatening to send him from the Ring! The MAN from BORNEO
got the Winning Submission with another Bear Hug! The Furious MASKED 'AMERICAN'
hurled a bucket at the HAIRY ONE-claiming MAX was biased and taking 'bungs'!!
This must have been Pure Theatre to watch!!-More LINCOLN GENIUS!!
Do you know of other Wrestlers who acted as a SECOND-maybe being on the same
Bill themselves??
MAIN MASK
Thank you Main mask. I have enjoyed my time on this site and as long as some members enjoy my recollections, then that's good.
Along with ANACONDA I do believe SAXONWOLF!! Didn't do much 'Seconding' as
I recall-Ha,Ha!!
MAIN MASK
Banger Walsh seconded Giant Haystacks in the clash against Big Daddy.
I think the most famous televised seconding was of Steve Logan by Mick McManus in the 1965 Cup Final Day bout with Ricki Starr. Didn't help Logan, who was counted out!
Somewhere on youtube is a bout where Bert Royal acted as second for Vic Faulkner.
But of course , Bert only interfered when the opponent did something underhand. Then the referee took a lot of time to put Bert out of the ring, during which, Faulkner suffered .
