Over the years Wrestlers obviously fought Each Other loads of times!
But in certain Weight Classes-Light Heavy in particular after the 1950's
there was a dearth numerically in available Opponents!
Thumbing thru my extensive Programmes Archive-looking for something
else actually-I was slightly amazed at just how many STEVE LOGAN vs.
LES KELLETT Bouts I came across possibly because of similar Qualities-
Weight-around 14-1/2 Stone and IRON MAN 'Tags'
They must have clashed well over 500 times-wonder how many LOGAN
Won??!
Who are YOUR really PROLIFIC Pair of Protagonists??
MAIN MASK
On Joint matches I saw many times included Jim Breaks versus Johnny Saint, Brian Maxine versus Mick Mc.Michael, Albert "Rocky" Wall versus Gwyn Davies, Les Kellett versus Lee Sharron, Masambula versus Bobby Graham, Les Kellett versus Bobby Grham.
On the independent circuit Andras Swajcsic versus Ian St.John, "Bronco" Jack Cassidy versus Paul Carpentier, "Bronco" Jack Cassidy versus Sugar Ray Do Do, Ian Wilson versus Eddie Rose, Kevin Conneely versus Harry Palin, Kevin Conneely versus Woody Waldo, Pedro the Gypsy verus Butcher Goodman and Pedro the Gypsy versus Max Raeger.
I was seconding at Wythenshawe Forum one night for Brian Dixon when an out of breath Kevin Conneely arrived late backstage full of apologies. He was billed against Woody Waldo and Dixon informed Conneely that he'd already had to use Waldo on the card and that he (Conneely) would now close the show against Mickey Gold. Conneely looked disappointed and said, "But Gold doesn't know my stuff." "Everybody knows your stuff," Dixon reassured him.
Dalbir Singh v Ray Steele
Mick McManus vs Johnny Kwango
Les Kellet vs Leon Arras and also Les vs Bobby Graham were fairly regularly featured on bills.
Well on the opposition bills there was even more repetition than on Joint.
Andreas Svajic v Ian St John
Pedro the Gypsy v Stoker Brooks (or Butcher Goodman)
Johnny Saint v Fred Woolley
Pyes v Campbells
Vic Faulkner vs Mick McMichael was a regular one.In Tag The Royals vs The Dennisons was another.
