When this match report reached English shores people in Lancashire thought that Gotch won on a "flying fall", which is understandable, in their native Lancashire style all kinds of back falls counted whether they were pins, flying, or rolling falls. Lankies didn't know that the two wrestled according to American rules, which is count of 3 pin ONLY, and basically Gotch knocked out Hack by throwing him violently on the ground, body-slamming him (yes both shoulders did hit the ground at the same time, so for a quick brief Hack was down on his shoulders which was enough in Lankies style) which hurt the latter and made him quit, and the ref awarded the match and the championship to Iowan.
