with Clean-Cut-Boyish Features whose Youthful Image belied his Hard and Tough Experiences in
Life! STAFF SERGEANT BILL WARNER had Served in The Royal West Kents Regiment during the
War and was taken Prisoner in the Fighting around TOULONS in 1940!
BILL-Who was Born on 15TH DECEMBER 1918-had been from a Young Age a Keen Athlete Who
Enjoyed Rigorous Outdoor Activities and this Fitness helped him to Survive his next 5 Years Captivity
in GERMAN Hands which was Harsh and Severe!-He was moved from P.O.W. Camp to P.O.W. Camp
on a regular basis!-His Inner Toughness and Strong Spirit ensured he would Survive the Notorious
800 Mile 'Hunger March' of Prisoners deeper into GERMANY as The Allies pushed on toward the
Enemy Homelands!-Hundreds of his fellow captives perished!-After the War he kept with him as a Good Luck 'Charm' his Own Metal Disc which was Stamped...STALAG!! As a P.O.W.-WARNER had Wrestled
a number of Times in different Stalags!-Despite the Poor Quality Food-he did his Best to keep as fit as he
could!-On his Return to ENGLAND-BILL was transferred to the Army Corps of Physical Culture where
he right away began building back up his Physique!-By APRIL 1948 WARNER had had over 100
Professional Wrestling Contests!-His Keeness for and Love of the Sport earned him plenty of Dates!
In MAY 1948-he took a Spell out to join the P.T. Staff at BUTLIN's HOLIDAY CAMP at SKEGNESS
to lend his Skills!-His Wrestling Career was to Last a further 3 Years!
