Marilyn , wrestlers got everywhere, entertaining most nights of the week.
We might as well enjoy some more.
Not the greatest of adverts but Tim McCoy got regular work at Belle Vue in the Days when Dick Rogers was the promoter , so much so that I probably have more Belle Vue adverts with him than all the rest put together.
Just a few more. On the Lincoln bill below they finally slip up and bill him from Wigan which it seems is now the truth. Other claims that crop up are ex Merchant Navy and ex Boxer.
I see no reason for thinking there was more than one Tim McCoy. Looks like he was from Wigan. We all know the posters would tell us anything.
Klondyke Bill was from Alaska and Dwight from New Jersey you know?
Some more now on McCoy. Earliest I have is this one and it makes me wonder if Alan Carroll is a third generation of Wigan Carroll's. As Irish descendants the Caroll's were not averse to claiming Ireland , both in Ireland and USA. This squad look Billy Riley Trained and they are pushing Tim as Cork.
As for Dublin or Belfast , well he did wrestling in both and quite a few trips to Ireland , here are a few.
In his early days a frequent visitor to Preston and "Cork" was pushed , not Belfast or Dublin. Who knows the truth.
One final spot , as early as 1942 he was doing some referee work in Belfast..
Tim McCoy was still going strong in 1958 but with the Independents.
I'll dig some more out later.
Hi Marilyn, click on the link below, then by clicking on the countries ("GBR", etc.), you should see some of the matches he had, and against who.

This is not an exhaustive list, of course. Ron Historyo and Main Mask will be able to find all the old, wonderful posters, that advertised Wrestling over the years.
Combine Belfast and Dublin and we get Wigan. Thanks for joining us Marilyn, hopefully we can help,
According to Wrestling Data, Tim McCoy was really John Pulford from Belfast, born April 1st, 1916.
Could Tim McCoy have been from England or was there more than one Tim McCoy
Cordite Conroy 14st 8lb, huh? That's not a 12st wrestlers from Rusholme who reportedly won the Wrytong Belt in 1947.
Here's a Rare Photo of TIM-NOT in the A-Z!....
