According to Wrestling Data, Tim McCoy was really John Pulford from Belfast, born April 1st, 1916.

hi I new tim mccoy very well when I was a child, a lot of the wrestlers used to drink in the blackstock pub in c-on-m manchester, my dad used to work at tootals and get the wrestlers there silk dressing gowns for them, he was always coming to our house, as far as I know he was from wigan, I also remember he worked at bradford pit and at one time there was a collapes, and the head lines in the manchester evening paper were (strength of a giant saves tim mccoy) I had the cutting for many years.
