A Prominent Wrestler in the 1930's-Wiganer HAROLD ANGUS-a bit like COUNT
BARTELLI-turned Something he Loved doing into that of a Profession-Wrestling!
Even Today ANGUS is generally Rated among the 3 Best WELTERWEIGHTS ever!
Maybe he could have gone on to be the BEST- if only a Tragic Accident hadn't ended his
Life at just 35 Years of Age!-But during his Time he DID meet and beat the Best Opponents
around and this Skilful Wrestler was a Solid Addition to Bills in the 1930's!

Thanks for these insights. I'm currently researching Harold's career and I'd be grateful for any more information. He's my great uncle. So far I've read through most of his match reports in all the UK papers from 1920-1936 and from that I'm currently estimating around 600 fights and six losses. In 1934 alone he fought 69 times, losing four times towards the end of that run. Amazing.
