When we talk about Professional Wrestling in SCOTLAND in the 1960's -2!! Iconic
Arenas immediately spring to mind- CAIRD HALL DUNDEE and ELDORADO STADIUM in
LEITH EDINBURGH!-Plus with the possible Addition of the MUSIC HALL in ABERDEEN!
Although I was a Visitor to MEADOWBANK STADIUM to Witness some Great Bouts in the
mid '70's during my 3 Year Stay in EDINBURGH with my Career-the LEITH Venue was before my Time in the Athens of the North!!
Epic Contests took place at the ELDORADO-and I Share a very Rare 8" x 10" BILL-to follow-
which Showcased a Match for The WORLD LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE and
BELT between the Peerless GEORGE KIDD and the BRITISH CHAMPION-JIM BREAKS!
We All know the Outcome of this one!-but the 'Undercard'-that's an Understatement!-
perfectly illustrates the Calibre of sheer Quality Contests Staged here!
-The likes of ALBERT WALL-KENDO NAGASAKI-the 'HATEFUL' BLACK DIAMONDS and
our Friends the RIOT SQUAD to name just some who Featured on this Season Opener for
1966/1967!!-These were Great Days!-Imagine having to fight GEORGE KIDD for an Hour!!
-although I somehow doubt BREAKS actually HAD to!!
MAIN MASK
A very strong card. They ran weekly at Eldorado for many years.
That's quite a bill Main Mask. I wonder who was in the opening match?
