In 1958 there was for the first week in july, according to the paper, a english wrestler named Acroyd in vienna at the famous Heumarkt tournament. It was for the european championship. Does anybody ever heard the name? Maybe he wasnt from the UK.

Just found these bills with Dave Ackroyd. Wonder if the information of him winning in Vienna 1957 is correct.
The next bill extends our knowledge of Dave Ackroyd from1957 to 1964. It's a strange place to be billed from here in 1964 , a place I am familiar with in Yorkshire. Did he move from London for a job and then quit wrestling
This looks to be him with a different spelling. Big Guy but Can't tell you much about him. Wonder if he had a name change.
These bills are stating Croydon. Seems like a local lad. Why would they make up somewhere so near.
