A match has appeared on the Segunda Caida Blog with the Golden Falcons tag team. One of the contributors has suggested one of the Golden Falcons is Al Miquet. Is this the case?
Thanks for the replies. It is always interesting when a wrestler suddenly gets a match on the internet. The wrestlers entire career can be judged by that one match
Good to hear from you Graham. We had a long and excellent association back in the good old days. Thanks for the mention. Al was a superb wrestler and I enjoyed several bouts with him over the years. I'm now 82 and fairly inactive. Cheers! Eddie Rose
I'm now 68 and still a funny little fat man. I promoted my last wrestling show back in 1987 but am still promoting jazz. I run shows twice monthly at The Morley Green Club between Wilmslow and Mobberley.
Back in 1976 I staged an eight team K.O. tournament at The Parr Hall, Warrington, and Al Miquet (who also provided the ring. Ted Betley's was stored away in the hall but he wouldn't allow me to use it) wrestled as himself, as Kung Fu and as the devious Kamikaze. In the latter guise I teamed him with "Beautiful" Billy Bottom as "The Odd Couple". I can still picture the look on Skelmersdale wrestler Jimmy Munroe's face when he arrived at the hall to find that he was Beautiful Billy Bottom! I forget all the combinations but I do recall that Bill Clarke, Rick Wiseman, Pat Curry, Harry Palin, Ian Wilson, Eddie Rose, Bob Sherry and The Witchdoctor (Ezra Francis) were also on the show.
Al Miquet wrestled in Spain in the mid-60's and was billed as "World Middleweight Champion", so that he could drop the title to a local wrestler.
Al was born to be a wrestler as his father was the noted heavyweight Don Mendoza.

Al Miquet was one of the cleverest, agile and skilled wrestlers that I ever wrestled and such a good lad outside the ring too. Eddie Rose.
Al Miquet now has a World of Sport match on You Tube from 1972.He tags Jon Cortez versus Jeff Kaye and Ian Gilmour
Kamikaze in the clip mentioned appears to be Modesto Aledo

Yes the Golden Falcons were different wrestlers. It is Kamikaze in a match versus Nicholas Priore who is potentially Al Miquet
If this is the Golden Falcons ( masked team ) , I have them listed as Emmer Cardonna , and Thomas Trujillo . They wrestled in England in 1973-74 .
