I have been trying to track down any existing US TV footage of Alan Garfield, so far with no luck.
We know he was in the USA in 1962 and 1963 and for quite a while he was in California where he wrestled in Los Angeles at the Olympic Auditorium, and in San Francisco at the Cow Palace. Both of these venues were used by their respective promoters as television venues. So I am hopeful that at some point, I will come across footage of him in action.
The reason for this post, though, is something else. Back in the mid-1950's, in Canada, a trading card company, called Parkurst, released a series of trading cards, depicting the image of a wrestler, and on the reverse side, the short biography (in French!).
The full list of wrestlers trading cards for 1955 can be found here, and we see that number 35 is Alan himself. https://www.wrestlingtradingcards.com/1955-1956-parkhurst-wrestling-trading-cards-parkhurst/
I have stumbled on a Youtube show, where the two hosts discuss a different wrestler, based on one of the trading cards. When it came to our man, they were a bit bamboozled, and one of them had never heard of Garfield. The other host had done some research and had come up with some basic facts. The show only lasts about 5 minutes, if anyone wants to see it.
Ron, yes wrestling from Calgary was televised in this timeframe. For example, here is an episode from 1961:
