So speaketh Juan Antonio Samaranch, in announcing the location for the 2000 Olympic Games. Below are the tickets for the different events that I, sometimes along with son, daughter and wife, other times with son only and on the occassions of Cathy Freeman’s 400 meter semi-final run, wife only, attended. Note both the Freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling tickets.
The magazine shown, has nothing to do with wrestling, however to me, it is a curiosity you might find interesting. The family spent a whole day at the Paralympics, that followed the able bodied games. We paid a one off admission fee, I think it might have been $15 dollars for adults and less for students and for that measly amount got to wander all over Olympic park, taking in as many events as we could attend. One of those events was the weightlifting and the magazine you see, was one given out by the Iranian Paralympic weightlifting team officials. So, that was nice!
p.s. the day had such a great vibe, we all went back the next day. It was the best weekend of live sport I have ever experienced.
