The Bushwackers worked for All Star in the 1990s they did at least one tour and did decent business as far as I can remember. Butch flew into the States for a wrestling convention last and took ill on arrival and died shortly afterwards. The Bushwackers were known to most as a comedy tag team but in a previous incarnation The Sheepherders, they were a hard hitting rule breaking team who spilt both their opponents and their own blood frequently, a far cry from what they became.

Let's not forget, that before joining Vince's circus, the duo were one of the roughest and toughest tag teams on the planet. Riots, blood and gore was the order of the day. There is an excellent interview on the w.w.web, where the guys recall their travels and careers in general. You just have to endure (maybe laugh) at the first ten minutes or so, when the interviewer, for some obscure reason starts the interview while the boys are finishing their lunch of hamburger and refreshment! (A wife also passes in the background a few times also).
RIP Bob. He was a great guy and will be sorely missed.
RIP Butch
Famously the Bushwhackers formed a triple tag team with British Bushwhacker Frank Casey in a rare WWF Tribute Act + Ageing Genuine Articles tag team partnering in the early 00s on All Star and TWA shows.
I saw them on a WWF tour against the Beverley Brothers about 1993, and a few years later on an All Star show at Newcastle City Hall, I cannot remember the opposition. Their better years were behind them by the time joined WWF as they were veterans on the circuit by then.
I saw The Bushwhackers at Wembley Arena. They beat Power and Glory (Hercules and Paul Roma). R.I.P. Butch.
I can comment this time because Butch was from my little window of Madison Square Garden madness 1989/90.
It was ridiculous but you couldn't take your eyes off the demented gap-toothed grin and exaggerated arm waving on their ringwalk that made Billy Torontos seem rather dull by comparison. And the Bushwhackers used to lick each other stomach-churningly as far as I recall.
There were some good tag teams at that time, I recall Demolition, The Rockers, Haku & Jean Ferre, Earthquake & One Man Gang, Anderson & Blanchard, Hart Foundation with an at-that-time sensational beard - and the Bushwhackers blended right on in:
And then I'd walk home after a night at The Garden and see the late night show from another promotion with an equally impressive group of tag teams including Skyscrapers and Legion of Doom.
Happy days and RIP.
R.I.P. Butch Miller.
