This match (I mean style v style for the fall) fulfills dreams of many fans...including myself.
They should have called it wrestling entertainment back then.
It was so arranged.
in 1903 Connors met Carkeek at the Palace theatre in Manchester.
But it was simply , choose your wrestling style and survive 15 minutes and Connors wins £10.
Connors survived and it was set up for Carkeek to name his style the next night.
Any men of similar weight would have met at one time or another but doubtful if anything that happened in the Music Halls was real.
