Around the 93 minute mark in Chariots of Fire there is a scene outside a Paris cafe with a Catch poster in the window. It seems to have the names of the wrestlers on it. One looked liked Bordes. I haven't the technical ability to read it by stopping the tape etc. Can anyone help please?
The film is set in 1924 and I wonder if any posters survived from that period or if it was a mock-up.
No the camera angle was not clear enough
could you see any names on the bill Peter ?
An episode of the Saint from 1964 set in Cannes also had Catch posters in the background
Surprised such a high standard film would have an anachronism that must have been easily noticed by French wrestling fans at the time of its release
In fact it is a pretty standard Cirque d'Hiver bill of the 1970s.
MNY THANKS RON. WHAT IT CERTAINLY ISN'T IS 1924. HAVE A GOOD NEW YEAR ALL.
I have tried to sharpen it up a bit James.
No idea if it was "Mock"
