One of the strongest Olympic Weightlifters in the world during the 1920s and 30s was also a top professional Wrestler. Is there any records of the opponents he met during his career as a pro wrestler?
Paul Anderson, perhaps the greatest lifter of all time, had a good go at wrestling. Less successful was his short boxing career.
Beat George Broadfield in Paris in 1946 (catch-as-catch-can)
Lost to Assirati in Paris in 1949. I think Rigoulot retired that year.
Did he wrestle in England.....I don't know.
There was a late forties period when weightlifters turned to wrestling, and the most prominent were Alan Garfield and The Great Tojo.
It would be great to see how he got on In England. Win Loss records
Sure, he met many of the big names of his era, Ed "Strangler" Lewis, Frank Sexton, "Dirty" Jack Pye, Henri Deglane, etc.
