I have only seen a few of these but one stands out in my memory was Les Kellett vs Catweasle.Surprisingly this bout went really well, Les appeared to be quite happy letting Catweasle lead and Les just going along wth it.Has anyone else seen a comic vs comic bout?

Les Kellett versus Kevin Conneely rarely worked well and usually finished quite early. Conneely seemed unwilling to sell Kellett's stuff. I used Kevin quite a lot and found him very difficult. I saw Kellett versus Conneely on a Wryton show at The Gaiety Theatre in Rhyl and I saw Conneely versus Catweazle at a Morrell and Beresford show at the Victoria Baths, Nottingham, with Catweazle virtually playing the straight man.
I did not know that Kellett had ever faced Catweazle and I'm pleased to hear that it worked. I also saw Kellett versus Bill Torontos on a couple of occasions on Morrell and Beresford promotions at the Ice Rink, Nottingham, and the De Montfort Hall, Leicester. Like his encounters with Conneely, these were relatively short.
Most of the ring comedians such as Catweazle, Conneely, Torontos, Pedro and Critchley engagaed in activites which had the punters laughing at them. You never laughed at Kellett; you laughed with him and that was the difference.
