I read an article about Tombstone and the silver mines in the area and a significant number of the miners were from Cornwall. Amongst the population of Tombstone Cornish wrestling became very popular and attracted sizeable crowds, the reports of the bouts were sent back to the UK.

'Crazy' Tim Harrington was the most well known cornish wrestler working the mining camps. Seattle brought him out to battle the jiudoka Ito. He was called 'crazy' because he got into some bad medicine in a Butte Montana opium den and it took half a dozen of Butte's finest armed with nightsticks to subdue him
Cornish amateur wrestling is more popular than Professional Wrestling. Cornwall has the fewest Professional events of any county in England
