In every Decade of the Golden Years-there were a handful of truly Outstanding Wrestlers!-
and of course we All had our Favourites too!!
One of the real Hi-Lites of the recent KENT REUNION was when a certain Wrestler from
STIRLING came over to the table where HACK and I were sitting for a Chat!
This Guy was one of my Favourite Class Fighters of the '80's and he had some Titanic
Battles with 2 other Greats of the time!!
Hearing him talk about and give his Opinions on DAVE FIT FINLAY and ROLLERBALL
ROCCO as Wrestlers was very Interesting-+ he had a couple of Super Stories which I
won't go into here!
This SCOTTISH HEAVY-MIDDLEWEIGHT went on to Win the BRITISH Title in this Class-
and went on to Dominate this Division for several Years as ROCCO held the WORLD
Title while FINLAY and MARTY JONES were Active as MID-HEAVYWEIGHTS!
FRANK 'CHIC' CULLEN was a Clever and Skilful Wrestler who always gave great
Performances and for me it was a Pleasure to meet him for the first time and to have
that Interesting Conversation! Luckily I could produce a Poster to Show him Featuring
FRANK CULLEN vs. ROLLERBALL ROCCO from the Stuff I'd brought with me!!
Who else saw CHIC CULLEN Wrestle Live?
Posters/Programmes/Article to follow!

Chic Cullen was a fantastic wrestler. I remember great bouts versus Rocco, Finlay, and Rocky Moran. Cullen was top class.
Frank was a great wrestler and a lovely guy, but I feel he came in the game as it was starting to go downhill, He had some epic battles with Rocco (who is a big friend of his) He had a spell in hospital not so long ago but hopefully doing good now
I first came across Chic Cullen whilst refereeing for Bobby Barron at the two Pontin's holiday camps in Prestatyn and I asked him to appear for me in a show i was organising for a local charity in my home town of Wilmslow at the long-demolished Public Hall. I booked Cullen in the top of the bill spot against Jackie "Mr.TV" Pallo but Pallo pulled out when he realised that my booking for him clashed with one of his own shows (I don't think I was the only promoter to suffer from Pallo's chaotic diary-keeping). I needed a big attraction to replace Pallo and few were bigger than Brian Mason who appeared as Mighty Chang. Cullen was a veritable high-flyer and i recall the two of them having an excellent top of the bill fight·
In October 1987 a full length match between Finlay/Cullen took up the entire Saturday afternoon broadcast. The last really compelling TV match that had non fans talking at work in a positive manner
I thought he really cane into his own when he fought Fit Finlay, there was real chemistry there and it was a feud that rand and ran.
Saw him live for the last time as recently as 2000.He is giving a training seminar in a few weeks in Livingston
