Sad news has been received this afternoon (5th October) that George Burgess aka Jamaica George has passed away. Condolences go to his family and friends at this very sad time.
Sad news, first came across him in Blackpool in the 1960s working for Dominic Pye, then lost track of him until he reappeared for Joints. R.I.P. George.
More sad news, a good capable heavyweight mostly for All Star Promotions when I saw him although he did some work for Joints too. Always thought he ' d have been greatin a tag team with Caswell Martin. Their style and build were very similar. Did they ever tag ?
I remember him as one of the reliable trusted guys who could give anyone a good match, R.I.P George.
Sad news, RIP George.

Sad to hear this news. I mostly remember George as a game opponent for Giant Haystacks.
