I believe it was Ron who posted a photo of the above author, of the above book, which subsequently made into a movie. I decided to read the book (I had seen and enjoyed the film a couple of times) and can recommend it. There is a whole other bunch of characters to be enjoyed as the wrestling story makes a fairly late appearance, but plays a prominent part in the lives of many. A couple of wrestling related passages below…….

Hi Saxonwolf,
Isn't it sad that IMDB should be so strong on listing a dozen or so "spectators at wrestling match" but doesn't clearly mention the guys in the photo below!
On the right of Zbyszko is Ken Richmond, a top British amateur for a couple of decades who retained some links with professional wrestling by writing in The Wrestler. Strange in itself how he got the gig here amongst the pros.
The birthmark would make the one in the foreground identifiable to fans of that period.
I suspect Garfield was selected for that scene so as not to tower over the Hollywood star.
But no idea about the top leftie.
