Sam Anderson middle-weight (under 12st) from United States remained in history the ONLY American catch-as-catch-can wrestler who conquered the Old Country. In 1908 he won the 'Lancashire Open To The World Championship' in Manchester a multi-week tourney promoted by famous Wm. Bankier, and was a runner-up in 1908 famous Hengler's Circus World Championship Tourney in London.
Let's listen to him talking, 1908.
Had the pleasure of visiting Harvard when in Boston a number of years ago
Is it known what happened to Sam subsequently?
Very interesting Ruslan.
Great stuff.
