He soon enter the pro ranks and emerged as a promising middleweight with the independent promoters in the North West where he quickly became a favourite with the fans.
Arthur (to give him his real name) was a friendly, enthusiastic and geneous lad as well as being a good wrestler. His career was cut short after getting a severe knee ligament injury that did not heal properly even after surgery. his was the victim of a very hard single leg boston crab applied by Jack Dempsey, the British Welterweight Champion from Wigan.
He was a great a loss to the profession. I last saw him about 15 year ago in Blackpool where he was working as private hire/taxi driver. Much missed but remebered with affection Arthusr Heaton aka Gustav Le Brun. Eddie Rose (Manchester).😥
