We've all seen moves and bumps and falls that look excruciatingly painful. We've all identified moments that clearly went wrong.
But the competitive spectacle had to go on. A villiain should seize on a weakened opponent.
Some "pain" will have passed in a few seconds; othertimes a wrestler will have thought "Hang on, I've broken something here."
I'm wondering what mechanisms they had in place to flag up these real instances?
Clearly something drastic stopped the bout.
But just those moments of doubt; or when one wrestler just needed thirty seconds to take stock.
Does anyone know of any signalling in place to account for this? It would have been necessary in a great number of bouts.
