I went to see the Iron Claw movie, which as most movies 'based on a true story' do, mixes fact with a sprinkling of fiction. If you are not into American wrestling of the 60s and onwards, you may well watch the film, but wonder how could any one family endure so much tragedy. Well, the film doesn't even touch on another son, who died tragically young and that's not a 'spoiler alert' as if you don't know about the von Erich family story, then you're not going to know about 'that' son are you? I'm not going to give you my take on the movie, as I'm sure anyone who decides to go along to see it would prefer to see it 'cold' and make their own minds up. The wrestling sequences are fine and the acting is strong. I'll happily give my opinion if and when, other Heritage members comment. Everyone, have a great weekend!

Very fine movie.Definite paralels with British Wrestling as it depicts the decline during the 1980s and early nineties from packed stadiums in Dallas to a struggle to feel smaller venues. The Patriarch of the von Erich family unable to come to terms with this puts his sons under immense pressure. The one surviving son Kevin had numerous matches with Chris Adams and came to Warwick to visit his family after his demise in 2001

Jeremy Allen White was interviewed by Seth Myers on NBC recently. As the winner
of two Golden Globes and an Emmy I suspect he was chosen to play Kerry because of his acting ability rather than his similarity as a wrestler.
The film premiers in the UK 9 February 2024
Cheers mate, I have not seen it yet, but will do at some point. I know the story of the family, truly sad.
The only criticism I have seen (from US wrestling fans who have seen it) is that while the guy who plays Kerry, is a good actor, he is literally all wrong for the physical specimin that Kerry was.
When they first announced the movie, I was wondering who they would cast in that role, and I could only think of Chris Hemsworth (Thor) or the guy who plays "Reacher" (Alan Ritchson), and I decided that Ritchson, in a long curly wig, would have probably nailed the look.
