Saw him on many occasions as Henri Pierlot and he always was great value no matter who he was matched against. A big Manchester United fan he would always ask the result when he arrived at the Hall (long before mobiles etc.) and he didn't take it well if they had lost ! RIP
I really enjoyed Les and thought he was worth a much bigger push here. I never saw him in a bad bout.
Also I have a friend who was his neighbour in Weaste (Salford) , he lived near the old Willows Rugby ground , I have just let my mate know the sad news.
Here he is working with Tony Charles who tagged with him for five years. RIP Les.
Why did such an impressive wrestler have so few TV appearances in the UK?
Nice clip, cheers Ron.
And of course his name goes down in wrestling folklore as the name that mustn't be mentioned for superstitious reasons.
Always sad when one of the greats pass away.
RIP Les
RIP Les, a nice article on him, from 2004 here
