A debate at the Tower long ago concerned Paul Lincoln's aborted summer season at Blackpool which I had never heard mentioned before,it was around the time that Lincoln made an attempt to establish himself in Manchester. IV got a little more info to share but I wonder if anyone was aware of this ,Ron no doubt could unearth the bills because the season started for sure, but seems not under Lincoln Alexander heading at first and very much an odd co promoter, why wasn't it billed and Lincoln's and what caused them to pull out ,it wasn't poor houses as the bills were well received with quality workers.

Unfortunately as yet I don't have Blackpool bills for that era.
Pretty well established that Lincolns Free Trade Hall push up north was when the Metropolitan closed in London. Lincolns way in initially was to do his show for Bill Benny who died , making it easy for Lincoln to take over.
Dominic Pye I think had done some shows at the Free Trade Hall , but I am not so sure he worked for Lincoln very often if at all.
With the Pye's being based in Blackpool , I could maybe speculate that Lincon might not have been wanted. But really I have no idea about this..
Hopefully one day I might get the right newspapers to see if anything was reported.
