Having picked up Los Commancheros working for Dale Martins in Oct/Nov 1966 I assumed them to be Los Gauchos who were here in the same period.
I am working a trail on these guys. The A-Z has Gauchos as Tomas Alumni Trujillo and Roberto Ruiz Flores Negrete.
Is there some promotional rivalry or have they worked a trick using three or four men.
I ask this because Dales and Morrell had them on the same night with Morrell naming Gauchos as Robert Flores and Alejandro Rodrigues.
Why would you name Masked Men.
Not masked then and probably Tejero and Garcia. They also did quite a bit of solo on the tour. Thanks MM
Morrell names his men for Los Gauchos. It looks pretty honest to me.
I found about 36 matches for Gauchos/Commancheros between Oct 3 and Dec 9 , but the ratio was much in favour of Gauchos and the North. Only about six or seven shows with Commancheros. All Dales and also some Dales matches featuring Tejero and Garcia. Who knows if they were masked here.
Roberto Flores Neregrete also teamed with Peruano , maybe indicating that usual partner Rodrigues was injured , again honest billing.
At least 2 other nights found where Gauchos/Commancheros were on (North/South)
Verdict ....2 different tag teams and Dale Martins could not stand Morrell booking Los Gauchos for a tour and had to come up with a similar gimmick. Unsure if Commancheros were masked.
One other stat , Found 7 matches with Royals and 10 with Dennisons. That's about half the matches.
All inspired by those Spaghetti Westerns 1964 to 1968.
Replaced by Kung Fu, Kojak, Catweazle ....
