In the 1950's and 1960's Especially!-Perhaps less so in the 1970's and after-The Lower Weight
Divisions were VERY Competitive at Championship Levels!
With many Quality Wrestlers around to Challenge for MOUNTEVANS Titles-Fans were often
'Treated' to some Great Battles for Championship Honours-and Title Matches were Staged fairly
Regularly around the Country at the Big Venues!
The MIDDLEWEIGHT Division always held a Particular Interest for me and this Crown Changed
Hands between some Really Great Wrestlers over the Two Decades when it was most under The
Spotlight!
We go back to the middle of the 1950's to find the First Really Solid MIDDLEWEIGHT Champion-
JACK BEAUMONT-A very Accomplished and Skilful Fighter-He held this Title for a Good Run-
although there was a 6 Month Spell in 1957 when he was Deprived of his Belt!
Here he is as Champion Taking-On a Former Title Holder-CORDITE CONROY!!

Any photos of the wrestler with WORLD MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE? Relwyskow-Green promotion was running it under the JP umbrella.
Bert Royal was also British Middleweight champion in 1959.
I don't remember Jack Beaumont. I saw Jack Dempsey and Tommy Mann.
One thing that they had in common was toughness. Hard and tough both of them.
Both also had a very good grounding in the grips and holds to be used.
Now I don't know if I am misreading MM's last post, but I don't think that Jack Dempsey ever held the British Middleweight title.
He was one of the best Welterweight champions that I saw. He may have gone up to Middleweight later in his career but never won the title.
JACK BEAUMONT again Facing the Man Who trotted off with his Title at KINGS HALL-BELLE VUE-One JOHN FOLEY!
JACK is 'Most Polished'!-These Two were Big Rivals in this Time Frame!
