Not sure if I've made things murkier but as promised IV done a little digging about whether Mick was the Mexican. Firstly home news two guys who worked closely with Mick at Dales but one admits he heard the rumour also says the rumour came out near to the end of Mick's career. Now I thought I was being theoretical about Steve being our mystery man but without me mentioning another lad tells me didn't Steve Logan do s Mexican thing early on.Meanwhile in France bombshells the Spaniard I met in France was Suarez I got name wrong he toured UK as both Mexican and Spaniard at middleweight but possibly not for Dales,The man who was to meet George Kidd worked as Van Den Voss did he do a no show.Bigger bombshell is Mick McManus did a bonnet job info to follow.im sure that's all no help but I tried.

I think it all just cements our report that it was Mick. Not the sort of odd detail you would dream up to lie about - from thirty years earlier.
Mick had three identities, the third was possibly Dr Death.
Logan wouldd have been too heavy for a world lightweight title bout, surely. Even in 1949.
But as Ron says, Logan lacked experience then and it's questionable whether he could have carried it off as a novice.
What is interesting in all this is how Mick kept a lid on this detail over so many years. Just imagine what other secrets he took to his grave ....
