Here's a lovely little title match at a small venue. Good match-making, would have filled the hall, I reckon. Spencer at about 5'4" finally in his proper weight class after being dwarfed in all too many heavyweight matches.
The promoters didn't realise how seriously we took this stuff!
Rex Strong was worthy of top of the bill,he looked like he could do it,he knew how to do it and invariably did it.Royals v Skinheads class bout,Rocco v Sean didn't work on any level.I had a headache at the end and earned my money.
Burgess Hill could be glad of their very existence as a wrestling venue, never mind quality questions. Mind you, they had Rex Strong who I only ever saw at the RAH live and never in the provinces.
The Royals also were a big name in the south, established ten years by Malvern. TV exposure meant bums on seats.
Love your defence of Rocco, Main Mask! Should have been his manager ....
Sadly Jack's bout was not televised. I waited all through the programme (it was live) and there right at the end he appeared in his cloak at the top of some steps and off we went for the football results.
Robby Baron in the final bout of six - he'll have caught jetlag! One of those embarrassing mismatches at the time when Dale Martin hadn't noticed Young Robby had become a 6'+ light or mid-heavyweight. He dwarfed opponents like Sargeant.
Ct Bartelli's low Dale Martin status further confirmed - in the opening bout. Oh dear. Must have been some bad blood there....
I wonder how much Garfield's reputation was cemented by the fact he could indeed handle Assirati?
Wrestling overseas today, Steve Casey (Steve Hoy, the son of Wild Angus), beat the famous Arn Anderson, in Roanoke, Virginia, USA, on this day in 1985.

I think that was the most insipid Royal Albert Hall bill I’ve ever seen!
