Today we can examine the other site of my double whammy of recent days:
It's a nice balanced bill. Hall v Myers was a training bout performed I'd guess 200 times over a, 18-month period. Not sure whether Clive was slow to take to it.
Killer's there again, no dark corners to hide his skulduggery in the open air.
Meanwhile, a meticulously set out poster with another flavour of our month, Klondike Bill:
@adrianpollard.shangri-la I remember chatting at the time to one of the ladies who worked the box office at The Gaiety. Councillor Roy Turner promoted through Wryton so Martin Conroy would matchmake and send the bills to Turner who would then telephone the bill through to the local paper so much would be riding on Turner's diction and the intelligence of the person on the other end of the 'phone, particularly if they knew nothing about wrestling. Although Martinelli is a lengthy surname, it virtually spells itself!
I recall similar problems when promoting at The Parr Hall, Warrington, back in the 1970s. I promoted a tag match between Lee Sharron/Klondyke Jim versus The Lincolnshire Poachers as being "mat mayhem" only to see a wrestler called Mat Mayhan appearing in the advert as a promised competitor.
