I have a very vague memory of Whipper Watson Jnr facing Red Pollard in a Relwyskow and Green TV tag match of the time. One of them was partnered by Barry Douglas.
Today's (January 9th) TV listings from 1972 gives me my answer. Barry Douglas partnered Whipper Watson Jnr against Red Pollard and Colin Joynson. Amazing that I forgot the fourth man was Joynson after a mere fifty years!
What a delight to see this again. If I recall correctly, later in the broadcast Kidd appeared again alongside Lee Thomas to face Mulligan and Peter Kaye in a tag match. Around the same time he also faced Moe Hunter in a TV match. Crabtree did a lot of things wrong when he took over the Joint Promotions reins, particularly with the benefit of hindsight, but coaxing Kidd back over the border for those TV appearances and fixing up a couple of appearances for Billy Robinson were two of the times when Crabtree did exactly the right thing.
Hi Bernard.Kent Walton gives his weight out as 11st 5lbs stating that he was 5lbs over the 11st lightweight limit. To me he appeared heavier than this. However,I think his weight at his peak was around the ten stone mark.Great unselfish opponent who puts him over so well.
Wrestling overseas today, Mark Rocco (as Black Tiger) defeated Ryuma Go, in Saitama, Japan, on this day in 1983.
On our TV screens, on this day in 1963:-
Alan Colbeck (2) v Eric Sands (1)

Agree Bernard.Looks a good stone heavier than that stated.
Thanks Romeo.
I would have thought that George was 10-10.5 stone when I first saw him.
In the video, I would think that 12-12.5 stone would be nearer.

A lot more of George there than I remember. What sort of weight would he have been near the end?
His opponent still had to go along with the moves, which looked so clever when I knew so little.
Holding the hand trapped with one foot, and a variety of the old roll-up into a ball trick.
