One fall, one submission or 1 knockout bouts were an enjoyable change sometimes from best of three. Could be particulary exciting if it involved a masked wrestler. Seemed to die off a bit after the mid seventies.Your opinions please.

Three fall matches eventually came to be seen as too predictable with the winner usually obvious from the start. Of course the occasional two nil win helped on the credibility front
Agree with Bernard with the exception of a couple of knock out tournaments that I saw at Newcastle.
Saw plenty of these on television usually reserved for Bank Holiday Mondays for some reason.
Short answer-No.
But they never had them at Newcastle in the 50's anyway, so did not have to choose then.
My recollection is that in France in the 1970s they were usually one fall - no rounds either.
They are the predominant bouts nowadays, best of 3 falls matches are a novelty and kept for special matches or a series of matches. I always enjoyed the best of 3 matches but they are alien to the fans nowadays.
