Well Anglo, If you compare the Relwysko posters on here to the Newcastle posters in Ron's gallery , yes they are superior.
The posters for Newcastle that I remember seeing week after week outside St James Hall were landscape format, on white with red and green letters .
They were attractive too.
I don't know where Ron got his bills from, but I agree that those bills on yellow all one colour are not as good as the Relwysko ones put up on the various threads.
We are discussing Relwyskow here; as I said "those further south which sometimes had three preliminaries out of four bouts"
But please look at what I am comparing: Relwyskow's presentation. His posters, his use of fonts, colours, words, banners, proportions. Not his match-making.
I happen to think the posters on this topic are some of the most attractive we have seen.
Some of those 5-bout spectaculars in Hull were great. Yet with such low ticket prices. It must have been some venue to cram in enough punters to make it pay.
Yes, must have been with Relwysko's promoting there seemingly spanning decades.
Looks like when he got his slice of the visiting talent, they always appeared in Hull.
I enjoy getting a feel for the different promoters.
Beautifully laid out posters, especially that Sheffield one. Thank you.
But we are stuck at three English venues for Geo del Rel., are we? I would have thought he might have promoted in places like Doncaster and Scarborough and Goule (well, there's nowhere like Goule).
He was a bit of a swine with his "No Reductions for Children."
Howes and Nagasaki doing the rounds, but I think we squabbled enough about that in February.
Great stuff, Main Mask. Some super bouts, there, in spite of a couple of mismatches weights-wise.
We really don't discuss this promoter enough, he has such a distinctive style. He uses all the Yorkshiremen - Campbell, Masambula, Gargantua, Kirk, Graham, Arras, Marino etc - with a good sprinkling of southerners and visitors. But no sign of the DM trusties like Czeslaw, Torontos, Logan and Bruno.
He even got Andreas Swajsick into a main event - that must be a first.
He does seem to strike a good balance between the excesses of some Morrell bills and those further south which sometimes had three preliminaries out of four bouts.
So where were his regular venues apart from Brid & Hull? Sheffield I believe, then ...? He promoted in Scotland and it's no surprise to see him bringing so many Scots wrestlers down to the East coast.
Dave and Powerlock, must have seen the posters that I am talking about.
What do you think gents? Were the original wall posters attractive.?Perhaps Ron might have one of the originals.

That's an old squabble, Bernard.

No Anglo, I think that both presentations were about equal, but the wrestlers on Morrell bills were generally more of 4 top bouts than DM.
As you once called it- cherry picking !
The Main Mask, thanks so much !!! Do you have in your great collection the Wryton Promotions posters from the 1950s? Thanks.
Bernard, you have to admit that Relwyskow's presentation is far superior to Morrell's?

Careful Anglo, you're straying onto dangerous territory there.
