A recent documentary on Sky Channel about Punjabi wrestling included an interview with Prince Mann Singh. The documentary mainly dealt with the history of wrestling in the Punjab but did mention the period in the late 1950 s when new arrivals in the UK did not always have TV and would cluster round TV rental shops every Saturday afternoon. Also had a clip of Mann Singh's match versus Bearcat Brody

Just watched a repeat of this documentary.Another A-Z member mentioned Dara Singh but mainly for his film career
My apologies. I recall Bull Pratt on a Max Crabtree show partnering Wild Angus in a TV bout against Big Daddy and Bobby Bold Eagle. He must have combined the names of Bearcat Wright and Colonel Brody ( or even Ox Brody who used to wrestle for me as Ragnor the Viking).
Bearcat Brody appears in the A-Z using the name Bull Pratt
His match against Bearcat Brody(Brodie} is still available on You Tube with Jackie Pallo in commentary.A WAW match from the early days of satellite TV
There was no Bearcat Brody. There was a Bearcat Wright who was Bernie Wright going from blue eye to villain with a mohican haircut. There was also a Colonel Brody who first came to my notice on a TV taping when he wrestled as Magnificent Maurice partnering Bobby Barnes against The Wilson Brothers. I have to say that I found Mann Singh a most uninteresting wrestler and recall particularly a slow-moving and turgid TV encounter with Lee Bronson.
