Further to the Earl McCready post I discovered from the ITV Wrestling site that in July 1938 he had a match versus Tim Estejile(Estelle)broadcast on the National Channel of the BBC.At the time one of just two national radio stations and broadcasting to vast numbers of listerners.Far more signicant than TV which in 1938 only broadcast to a few hundred upmarket and very wealthy househols in Greater London.

Realistically the 1938 radio broadcast probably had more listners than most of the ITV broadcasts in the Golden Era
