SHERRY-THE TOAST OF WRESTLING??

During the 1930's there was a handful of Stand-Out Top Quality Wrestlers in the World-

2 of these were JACK SHERRY a Burly Rugged 17 Stoner from ALASKA and a World

Title Claimant-and KARL POJELLO- a LITHUANIAN and one of the Master Ring Craftsmen

of the 20th Century!!-It was inevitable that these two Ring Greats would have to Collide!!

SHERRY had even Defeated the Great DOUGLAS CLARK-albeit on a Cut-Eye Retirement

at BELLE VUE MANCHESTER in 1938.-POJELLO-a European Champion in 1933 beat

JOHNNY MEYERS-a Supreme Master in his Weight Class f-for the World Light-Heavyweight

Title!-So these two Rivals epitomised the very Best of the World's ELITE Heavyweights!

But there was an Obstacle to this 'Match of the Century' taking place-it was a Government

'Diktat' that no two 'Aliens'could Wrestle together in a Public Place...........SO.......

This Match would have to take place in a Gymnasium!!

So the 'usual' Build-Up to this Clash began with POJELLO 'Baiting' SHERRY in a Series

of Press Challenges and Diatribe from his BAYSWATER Flat!!

SHERRY for his Part stated he'd meet POJELLO anywhere and he didn't want Paying-

just a Personal Side Stake between the two of them!

SHERRY'S War Slogan was 'Tell POJELLO I'll Pin him 10!! Times in one nite'!!

So the Scene was set...........
