Gee you were game, Graham.
Most of us were collecting autographs or results as a hobby - you were promoting! Hats off.
Another great selection, Main Mask. Glad to see you coming down to earth with four-bout bills which were what most of us attended. But as you say, these are a cut above the rest, with championship bouts and all the big names.
DMs must have struck a good deal to commit to all three of the venues Graham mentioned, with a better percentage of the gate. Getting McManus there!
I still cringe at the "with his funny antics."
BTW your Kenny Hogan is from Leigh which, when I lived ther, was part of Sa(w)lford.
I tried to get the Focus Cinema in Crewe and the gentleman at the other end of the 'phone was Melvyn Priddle (a name that's not easy to forget, even after all these years). Unfortunately they had three cinemas and i had to commit to putting shows on in all three or none at all. One was Edmonton and I forget the third. For someone doing it as a hobby or sideline, this just was not feasible.
I think it was our old pal Gordon Corbett again.
Thanks Main Mask. You're forever telling us of places you worked - Blackpool Crewe, now Glasgow. Were you a train driver? Or bank robber?
Here's a Great Show Featuring an 18 Year Old DYNAMITE KID in a 4 Man K.O.
Tourney including BREAKS-RYAN and TALLY HO!-COUNT BARTELLI-Who probably Walked to the Venue!! Taking-On A 'Mask'-not THE MASK!
A MAXINE-JONES Bill Topper!
