Used to see Spencer ride around Chiswick/Hammersmith in his red open top VW Beetle, always with no shirt on.. Used to wave at us. Later saw him wrestle lots of times in Kent. Always good clean contests. 1 great one was against Ray Fury [Ron Wiltshire] which was amazing at that time approx 1964. .Recall 1 with Les Kellet in Casino Rochester which had all the usual elements of Kellet but Les had respect for Spencer. It was a 40 min draw. Both were exhausted RIP Great Man
I lived in West London during the mid 1960's and Spencer Churchill from Kew was a favourite with the fans at the Hammersmith Commodore and the Lime Grove Baths in Shepherds Bush.He was always well received and is fondly remembered for the skill and ability he showed.
A very good wrestler, at times he made it look easy, sadly I only saw his televised bouts but I cannot remember if he ever wrestled in Newcastle. R.I.P Spencer Churchill, my condolences to his family and friends
Yeah, I write in 2023 all knowingly about light workers. So clever.....
But the truth is I had no idea about all that at the time. A credit to the many Spencer Churchills that we respected their work in the pre-internet days. I always enjoyed his bouts.
It's appreciated, bKendo, that you pop up with these snippets, or in today's case, very important piece of information. Quite how a northern Monkey can have his hand on the pulse of a nonogenarain Thamesider's wellbeing remains a mystery to me.
So, dear dear bKendo (where on earth did you get that name from????), what can you tell us in January 2023 about Gori Ed and Bobo?
Anglo Dempsey said the payers in the seats miss nowt and deserve respect. I thought I'd done the kendo name on here I'll repeat shortly I'll just say it stems from little hulton British legion not the R A H .bobo I can Gori not a
Oh no. I saw aw Spencer Churchill wrestle scores of times, got the gracious autograph as much as I wanted. It is very very sad.I am very very sad,His own career is an enigma. One of the lightest workers there ever was.
Anglo to be honest the lightest work comment is so perceptive,I noticed comments about old jack and Mick and was surprised both very light in my experience and unusual to a northern monkey like me ,I'll let you guess who gave me that title lol

So sorry to hear of Spencer's passing I can still picture him in my mind. R.I.P. Spencer.
Spencer appears in the 1969 film the Reckoning. Available on You Tube at the 36 minute mark
RIP Spencer Churchill. "A good innings", as us Brits would say.
I remember his amazing physique, staring at him and thinking it was like looking in a mirror......................if only 😂😂
I remember reading all about Spencer Churchill, in Kent Walton’s book This Grappling Game. Great wrestler, known for his amazing physique. RIP.
Sad news. He was an inspiration to many other wrestlers.

Bills from over 70 years ago speak for themselves. Great man RIP.
