The Black Diamonds spring to mind with those helmets. It's incredible how something so simple could cause so much angst with the crowd. Your recollections of tag team gimmicks please.
Chic Purvey and Ted Hannon entering the ring in full Highland regalia.
The Toffs (Leon Arras and Karl Von Kramer) entering in top hats and tailed coats with their second carrying a tray, a bottle and two glasses. Having poured them each a glass of "wine" they would toast each other and then the audience before getting started. The tray would be stashed in their corner to be used to crack an opponent across the head following each posting which was inevitably reversed and they ended up cracking each other.
The daftass Royals and the tired old act of pointing to the ceiling and hitting their opponents while they looked up, they milked that little gem for about 200 years.
Some Lightweight tagging Daddy and getting the crrap kicked out of him for 10 min until the man in the giant babygrow could play the hero for all of 30 seconds and save the day by bouncing people off of his ample gut .
Kendo and Rocco and The Hells Angels were the best for me. No gimmicks just great wrestling. (even though I haven't seen much of The Hells Angels).
McManus and Logan Good honest technical wrestling ?????
I'll have a pint of whatever you've just had!
Bert and Vic tagging behind the referees back. A bemused Max Ward would look on in amazement.
mcmanus and logan neve needed a gimmick, good honest technical clean wrestling

The Artful Dodgers tried to get a gimmick going with various signals. I am probably in a tiny minority of remembering this.
The Borg twins and the numbered vests, they took them off so the ref didn't know who was who
The Dennisons' wristbands.
