When we look back to the 1950's and 1960's-and even before and Gaze at Photos of
Wrestlers when they were Young and just starting out-We often see the usual small crop
of Pictures used by Promoters on Programmes etc.!
So Favourites from the Decade before of Wrestlers so well known in the 1960's seem
confined to a batch we all know with Familiarity!
To see much Rarer Photos of Top Wrestlers is therefore always a nice 'Treat' from when they
were 'Growing Up'!!
Here's some below......
Starting with MIKE MARINO-Just to show ANGLO I'm not Biased!!
MAIN MASK
Colin Joynson
I agree Bernard; but for the caption I would have questioned whether it was Garfield.
That photo of Alan Garfield reminds me of Billy Whipper Watson.
Anyone else see a resemblance?
That was the beauty of wrestling, not only did it appeal to all ages but the exponents were of all ages. Men in their late 30's and into their 40's could still put on a great show, and all those years experience of learning how to work a crowd were put to great use.
Alan Garfield was never young. That was his charm
Main Mask's latest makes him look less old:
Albert Wall:
Bronco Wells had another name ....
Mick even wore white trunks!
My favourite was Wild Angus. I don't think he ever looked young.
Here's Ada in 1958
