Back into my TARDIS again:-
Destination:- KIRKBY-IN-ASHFIELD U.K.
Time Zone:- Mid-1970's....
Wrestling in this Country on a SUNDAY was very much the Exception rather than the Rule!
Weekdays and mainly SATURDAYS were the 'Norm' for Staging Shows for obvious reasons!
There were of course SOME Big Venues who did have SUNDAY WRESTLING!- TOWER
CIRCUS BLACKPOOL-again for clearly evident reasons-Large Influx of People into Town
at Weekends-Seaside Attractions etc!!....And ANOTHER Venue which put on Great Bills
on the Sabbath!-The FESTIVAL HALL-KIRKBY-IN-ASHFIELD!!- Solid and Stonking
Wrestling could be seen here and We will see below some Events from the Mid-1970's!
So here we go-in No particular Date Order!! We start with MARCH 1975-These Posters
Feature Photos and Cool Write-Ups-GWYN DAVIES Topping the Bill-and Early ROCCO-

Hi All Grappling fans lets set something up about all the wonderful and amazing British Wrestlers we have seen Any footage would be brilliant.Sorry i have to go but the result will be available if the bout is finished before the end of World of Sport
Understood!
By the way Main Mask, is this the part of the world you are from?, you seem to have a lot of posters from Kirkby-in-Ashfield (and I think you had some on here before from Sutton-in-Ashfield as well).
Listing Big Bruno as 6ft 2!!!!!
The Kung Fu v Tug Wilson was on at the Kings Hall in Derby a couple of times
One of my favourite venues quality and good crowd Jack Atherton input.mapping a bout against Puffing Billy impossible lovely guy.
He ricked his neck trying to see his feet
Happily, Rocco's "good clean wrestling" phase doesn't seem to have lasted too long!
Does anyone happen to know what the nature of Daddy's "recent injury" was?
I'm still trying to get my head around the thought of Rocco having "settled down to good clean wrestling".....
I mean, what lovingly worded write-ups! A class apart from what you shared with us at Sheffield, Main Mask, or where four wrestlers were from Bradford on the Liverpool bill. These are the words of Frank Woodhouse, for sure.
Paul Mitchell in with Tornado Torontos: I'd love you to tell us what planning a bout was like with HIM, Paul?
I bet Norman's boy was in fact a Len....
Next we 'Materialise' a Year or so Later to see some of the 'Big Boys' on this
Bill including one of my Personal Favourites in the Top Bout-WILD ANGUS!
+ That Wonderful Wrestler PETER 'TALLY-HO' KAYE!-A Major Asset to any
Card!!-Not forgetting Big KLONDYKE JAKE!!....
