MAIN MASK
I'm too young to have seen Ernie Baldwin wrestle but certainly saw him many times as referee and M.C. on Morrell and Beresford shows. He and Ernie Lofthouse took it in turns to M.C. and run the show. The contrast could not have been greater. Baldwin was friendly and always willing to chat to the fans whereas Lofthouse was aloof and imperious.
I am also too young to have seen Billy Joyce in his heyday but did see him on Morrell and Beresford shows at King's Hall, Belle Vue when he returned briefly as a light-heavyweight. I recall bouts against Bob kirkwood, Honey Boy Zimba and Billy Howes.
I also witnessed "Sir" Alan Garfield and "Jumping" Jimmy Hussey towards the end of their careers. I would have loved to have seen those two go up against each other.
