This leaves Terry's big brother Dory Funk Jr and Bob Backlund as the last two living ex-holders of a major-league American version of the World Heavyweight title prior to the 1980s.

(Flair and Hogan are now 4th and 5th earliest, with Tommy Rich in 3rd place.)
As far as I know, he only did one match in the UK, for FWA at the Coventry Skydome. He teamed with Paul Birchill and Paul Travell against Thunder (Tony Walsh's son), Drew McDonald and Raj Ghosh.
He did and stayed on to talk to fans, he also did a couple of fan conventions not too long ago, the guy was great with everyone , nobody had a bad word to say about him.
Watched some footage of him being piledrivered onto a pumpkin at a Halloween Havoc event. Innovative, he could wrestle scientifically, brawl, take ridiculous bumps and in his prime do 60 minute matches every night.

Yes, I remember seeing him that night (it was a crafty way to get down to London to be in Croydon the next afternoon). Nice old guy, he seemed to be. Drew and Darren were both born and bred old school opponents.

A post on the Preston City Wrestling Facebook page states that he did a match for them but does not state when
