Further to the post types of venue were wrestling took place I discovered from the excellent ITV Wrestling website that in 1966 there was a broadcast from "the Miners Scheme" Coalville in Leicestershire. Any ideas exactly what the Miners Scheme was?

Thanks for the replies. The Miners Welfare Scheme is really a reminder of a bygone age
As mentioned in previous forums I once wrestled at a miner’s outdoor fair somewhere in Lancashire or Yorkshire in 1963/64, not sure anymore. This was run by Bob Bannister, who was a ex miner himself. The bouts were filmed and we were told later it would be shown at miner’s convalescent homes all over the north of England.
I’ve written to any amount of miner’s organisations trying to get hold of a copy, but without success.
It would appear that the miner’s organisation(s) are indeed looking after miners and this could be another example.
Cheers
The listing is for "Miner's Welfare Scheme", which would have been what provided social and support facilities for miners. I did find a mention of the Coalville scheme having a swimming baths that could be boarded over to use as a hall in winter, so that could well be the venue.
