The following articles concern the editor of "RINGSPORT" Evan.R. Treharne and the magazine's conception. I began subscribing to Ringsport in the very late 1970s, for those who don't know it was a bi- monthly wrestling magazine , i'm not sure if it may have started out as a monthly publication in the 1960s but in those days Ringsport covered both Wrestling and Boxing! Evan was a cracking fella and i can always picture him at his stand as you went through the doors of Sophia Gardens Pavilion in Cardiff (now long gone) Evan was a very friendly chap, and was often accompanied by his son to venues where they sold Ringsport along with Joint Promotion's Wrestling Scene, American wrestling publications, rosette's, scarfs, pictures etc. His office was based in Caerphilly, very near the famous castle and i would occasionally write to him asking questions concerning wrestlers and the sport in general to which he would always reply. His hero was Bulldog Bill Garnon from Fishguard who also contributed articles to Ringsport discussing topics from a bygone era. Towards the end of Ringsport Evan relied on the fans for information as ill health afflicted him. That and the fact that some promoters had barred him from selling at their venues, which upset him greatly, especially as he was helping to sell their merchandise. Enjoy the articles, Evan was a goodun.'
