Being a Top Venue and a 6,000 Seater Arena All Our Top Wrestlers had many Matches at the
KINGS HALL- Along with quite a lot of Wrestlers from Overseas Appearing now and again too!
This Ensured that the QUALITY of Professional Wrestling at the Hall was always of a very High Standard
-especially from 1960 onwards!-SATURDAY Nite was the Main Attraction every Week!-but on occasions
Shows were put on on a FRIDAY-MONDAY and WEDNESDAY as well!-So-although rarely-you were
'Spoiled' with 3 Events over 4 Nites with just the SUNDAY with No Wrestling as the Arena was used for
Something else!!
To further Augment this Plethera of Pugilism- every so often the Top of the Bill would be a TITLE
CONTEST for one of the MOUNTEVANS Championship Belts!
So for this Special-I'm Sharing some of these Epic TITLE Confrontations which Thrilled the BELLE VUE
Faithful in the Early 1960's!-And we start with..... A Contest for the BRITISH HEAVY-MIDDLEWEIGHT
Title between the then Holder-ERIC TAYLOR and-a Future Champion-CLAYTON THOMSON!!
This was the Main Bout on SATURDAY's Show on 28TH OCTOBER 1961!- Result is shown!!
MAIN MASK

brilliant share, wanted to draw everyone's attention to this:
FIFTEEN FIVE MINUTE ROUNDS
Two falls, two submissions or one Knock-out
Under the Admiral Lord Mountevans Rules.
Hear me well, dear friends, all matches that were run according to the conditions that do not match these...cannot be considered as title changes under the JP. And it didn't matter how many times one wrestler beat the other, if it was not under these particular conditions those were not the official title changes.
Thanks, R
