Tom Connor Challenges The World, 1900

Thanks so much for sharing The Main Mask, appreciate, this poster looks familiar, I believe I saw a newspaper ad, and even an official match report of this pro wrestling event ages ago on British Newspaper Archives. Mixed wrestling bouts were unheard of in the UK and it was Tom who brought this typical American fashion fun to his home country. In the 1880s the most popular pro wrestling matches in the US were all mixed styles. But not only that it also was Connor who brought and introduced to England the American rule of "count of 3 pin falls only to count" prior to that in his native Lancashire any kind of fair back fall (2 shoulders flat at the same time) counted, it was an instant touch rule, whether it was a flying, rolling or pinning action.
